Building America’s Cyber Force:
A conversation with Joshua Stiefel on his work at The CSIS Commission on U.S. Cyber Force Generation
In March 2026, Stryker, one of the world’s largest medical technology companies, confirmed a cyberattack that disrupted its systems globally. The Iran-linked hacking group Handala claimed responsibility and said it had wiped more than 200,000 company devices. The incident is a reminder that cyber conflict does not stop at the edge of the battlefield; it reaches the hospitals, companies, supply chains, and civilian infrastructure that daily life depends on.
The United States is confronting a basic force design question: is the current defense enterprise organized to build, train, retain, and employ the cyber talent it needs?
Join the Defense Entrepreneurs Forum for a moderated conversation and audience Q&A with Joshua Stiefel, Co-Chair of the CSIS Commission on U.S. Cyber Force Generation, on the future of U.S. military cyber organization.
